R. J. Menner, The Poetical Dialogues of Solomon and Saturn, MLA Monograph Series 13 (New York: Modern Language Association of America, 1941).

This edition of the Old English poem Solomon and Saturn by R. J. Menner is not very attractive itself, but thanks to the inscriptions by its former owner, C. L. Wrenn (1895-1969), it is unique and interesting. Wrenn was Rawlinson and Bosworth Professor of Anglo-Saxon at the University of Oxford betwen 1945 and 1963, succeeding J. R. R. Tolkien. He was a member of the Inklings and frequented Eagle and Child in Oxford with other members including Tolkien, C. S. Lewis, Owen Barfield, et al.
Solomon and Saturn was first edited by J. M. Kemble in 1848, and Menner's is the second oldest independent edition. Its standard edition now is Daniel Anlezark, ed. and trans., The Old English Dialogues of Solomon and Saturn, Anglo-Saxon Texts 7 (Cambridge: D. S. Brewer, 2009).
